Vangede Battery is a former 19th-century military fortification located in the Copenhagen suburbs, now transformed into a public park. Built in 1888 as part of Copenhagen's ring fortifications, this crescent-shaped 350-meter-long structure was designed to defend the area between Lyngby Fort and Garderhøj Fort. Originally equipped with two machine guns and nine 12-centimeter cannons, it featured barracks and ammunition magazines. Decommissioned in 1920, the battery's grounds were converted into a recreational green space by Gentofte Municipality, offering visitors a place to explore the remnants of Denmark's 19th-century military heritage.

Garderhøj Fort stands as Copenhagen's largest fortification in the land defense system, built between 1886 and 1892 with private funding. After serving the Defense Ministry until 1920, it transitioned to ammunition storage and police training before being handed to the Danish people in 1996.
