Vangede Battery is a former 19th-century military fortification located in the Copenhagen suburbs, now transformed into a public park. Built in 1888 as part of Copenhagen's ring fortifications, this crescent-shaped 350-meter-long structure was designed to defend the area between Lyngby Fort and Garderhøj Fort. Originally equipped with two machine guns and nine 12-centimeter cannons, it featured barracks and ammunition magazines. Decommissioned in 1920, the battery's grounds were converted into a recreational green space by Gentofte Municipality, offering visitors a place to explore the remnants of Denmark's 19th-century military heritage.
