Château de Maÿtie, also known as Château d'Andurain, is a Renaissance castle located at the heart of Mauléon-Licharre in the Pays Basque, originally built at the end of the 16th century and classified as a historic monument since 1925. Constructed by Pierre de Maytie and later associated with Arnaud de Maytie, Bishop of Oloron (1599-1623), the rectangular château features distinctive Renaissance architecture with square towers at each corner and an elegant façade accented by mullioned windows, pediments, and carved details. The castle retains its original interior features including Baroque carved fireplaces bearing the bishop's arms, rare triple hull frame timbers, and furnishings from the 17th and 18th centuries. Maintained continuously by the same family since construction, it opens to visitors from July through September.
