Château de Montastruc is a monumental family residence located in Lamonzie-Montastruc, Dordogne, approximately 12 kilometers northeast of Bergerac. Originally built in the 13th century on a prehistoric site and modified in the 15th and 18th centuries, the castle dominates a rock above the Caudeau river. It was razed in 1438 by order of Charles VII after its owner's execution, then reconstructed in 1475 and endured a 1568 siege during the Wars of Religion. Now entirely listed as a historic monument, it offers week-long vacation rentals accommodating up to 20 guests across ten bedrooms and eight bathrooms, featuring three living rooms, a library with thousands of volumes, a billiard room, two pianos, and vaulted underground chambers perfect for gatherings.
