Château d'Ordange in Seraing is a historic fortress with origins tracing back to 1414, rebuilt after being damaged during medieval conflicts. The castle retains its medieval character with an enclosed layout, protective moat, and two distinctive circular towers from the 15th or 16th centuries framing the entrance. Notable interior features include old stables and a chapel with vaulted ceilings adorned with remarkable wall paintings in the sacristy. Fort de Boncelles is one of the twelve Liège fortifications constructed between 1881 and 1884 under General Henri Alexis Brialmont's direction. Built entirely of unreinforced concrete—a revolutionary material at the time—this fort represents a significant advancement in military engineering. The fort was upgraded in the 1930s to counter the German threat and saw intense action in 1940 during the Battle of Belgium before being captured by German forces. Today the fort stands partially buried amid residential housing, yet restoration efforts are underway to preserve this historical structure. Château Antoine in Seraing is a classified heritage castle that underwent comprehensive restoration beginning in 2018, with phased rehabilitation completed in 2023. The reopened north and central wings now serve as a neighborhood city hall for Jemeppe and house municipal services including animal welfare offices. The restoration work aimed to revive the castle's historic grandeur while adapting it for contemporary civic functions, representing an important part of Jemeppe's architectural legacy restored for community benefit.
