Acoz Castle, also known as Château Pirmez, rises in the Hainaut municipality of Gerpinnes, its 16th-17th century architecture reflecting centuries of aristocratic ownership and refinement. The estate passed through prominent Walloon families including the Marotte dynasty (who acquired it in 1543 and gained ennoblement in 1629), the d'Udekem de Guertechin family, and the culturally prominent Pirmez family, who made it home to celebrated author Octave Pirmez during the 19th century. Since 2001, Japanese art antiquarian Tony Cammaert has meticulously restored the castle and estate into a prestigious venue for cultural events and celebrations, blending historic character with contemporary hospitality. The property remains available primarily for special occasions, maintaining its refined heritage.
