Tovrea Castle at Carraro Heights is a 5,000-square-foot four-story architectural marvel perched atop a 44-acre estate in Phoenix, Arizona. This "Jewel in the Sonoran Desert" was completed in the late 1920s and appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The castle overlooks meticulously maintained Sonoran Desert gardens featuring native cacti and connected by scenic trail systems. Since opening to the public in 2012, Tovrea Castle has been operated by the Tovrea Carraro Society and offers docent-led tours combining tram rides through the grounds and historic outbuildings. All visits require advance reservations and operate via lottery ticket system Friday through Sunday.
