CASTLES TURRIFF

Craigston Castle is a 17th-century country house built between 1604 and 1607 by John Urquhart in Aberdeenshire. The castle features a distinctive U-plan design with two main wings linked by an elevated arch, surmounted by a richly corbelled parapet with ornate Gothic carvings. Built of local Turriff sandstone, the interior displays biblical and heraldic wood carvings. Still occupied by the Urquhart family, one of Scotland's oldest clans, the castle now offers self-catering accommodation and wedding venue facilities.

Fyvie Castle is a magnificent Scottish Baronial fortress in Aberdeenshire with eight centuries of history woven into its impressive stone walls and surrounding estate.
