Caister Castle is a 15th-century moated fortress situated north of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, constructed between 1432 and 1446 by Sir John Fastolf, a figure who inspired Shakespeare's Falstaff. Built to a rectangular design with three wards, it was among England's earliest uses of brick in castle construction and features a distinctive 100-foot-high tower. The castle played a notable role in history when 30 Paston defenders held it against a siege by the Duke of Norfolk's army of 30,000. Today the castle houses Britain's largest collection of motor vehicles, featuring rare veteran, vintage, and classic automobiles alongside its historic architecture and domestic buildings.
