Blackcraig Castle is a striking Baronial mansion house built in 1856 in Perthshire, Scotland, near Blairgowrie on the banks of the River Ardle. Designed by prominent Scottish artist Patrick Allan Fraser, this Class B-listed building represents one of the finest examples of Baronial architecture in Scotland. The castle is set within a wooded estate and underwent extensive renovations to return it to its former glory. Notably, Liberal Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone was a guest here in September 1893. The site originally occupied a 16th-century tower house believed to have belonged to the Maxwells family, making it a location layered with both medieval and Victorian heritage.
