Following a comprehensive £2 million restoration programme by Belfast City Council from 1978-1988, the castle reopened to showcase its Victorian splendour and offers sublime views from landscaped gardens overlooking the city skyline and Belfast Lough. The estate combines heritage preservation with contemporary event venue facilities, balancing public access and private function capabilities.
