Castillo de Yeste crowns a commanding promontory above the town of Yeste in Albacete province, offering panoramic views across the Sierra del Segura. Built by Muslims in the 10th century and later ruled by the Order of Santiago, the castle underwent major transformations in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Its distinctive Gothic features include the "window of the queen"—a split window adorned with intricate lacework. Now municipally owned, the castle houses a Medieval Interpretation Center called "Tierra de Frontera," featuring a tower of homage, columned courtyard, ethnological museum, and temporary exhibitions that preserve the region's medieval heritage.
