Castillo de Villagarcía de la Torre, built in the 15th century in Badajoz province, served as a formidable lordly fortress featuring a keep, square towers, and round bastions adorned with the coat of arms of Luis Ponce de León. Damaged during the Peninsular War and destroyed during the Carlist Wars, the castle now stands as atmospheric ruins at the edge of Villagarcía de la Torre, with the tower of homage and partial walls remaining. Positioned overlooking dehesa woodland and olive groves, the site offers visitors an audio guide and glimpses of the region's medieval defensive architecture and agricultural heritage.
