Castle of Villafeliche is a fortress of Muslim origin atop a hill in Zaragoza, conquered during the Reconquista by Alfonso I the Battler in 1121. Throughout its history, ownership shifted among various powers—donated to the Bishop of Sigüenza in 1133, granted to monks of the Piedra Monastery in 1211, recovered by James I in 1219, and eventually held by the López de Luna family from 1366. Constructed during the 13th and 14th centuries, the castle features a polygonal enclosure with a large square tower and two smaller towers, though it now exists in progressive ruin. Municipal ownership ensures free public access, while its designation as a Cultural Heritage Asset under Aragonese law affirms its historical importance.
