Mirador del Castell de la Roca de Pelencà is an ancient fortified settlement perched on a distinctive rocky outcrop at 1,040 meters elevation in Vilallonga de Ter, Ripollès, overlooking the confluence of the Abella stream and Ter River. Dating to the 9th or 10th century as a pre-feudal fortress of the County of Besalú, the settlement preserves fragments of regular stone walls characteristic of early medieval military construction. A small Romanesque church dedicated to the Madonna of Piety remains the most visible architectural remnant on the site. The location is celebrated in local folklore for a romantic medieval legend and is officially designated as a cultural property of national interest, offering dramatic vistas across the Pyrenean foothills.
