Castell de Vallmoll occupies the highest point of its municipality in the Alt Camp region, with documented origins tracing to the 11th century during the Reconquesta. The castle entered historical prominence in 1291 as part of Guillema de Montcada's dowry upon her marriage to Infante Pere, brother of King James II. Over subsequent centuries, it passed through the hands of the Cardona, Burguès, Pacs, and Buixadors families, each leaving architectural imprints. The structure combines a late Gothic foundation with Renaissance expansions, featuring two towers including a Tower of Homage on the northeast facade. Now municipal property since the mid-20th century, the castle underwent significant restoration work between 2018 and 2019, preserving this layered historical monument.
