Castillo Palacio del Vizconde de Ros stands in the plaza of the Church in Balsicas, Torre-Pacheco, as an elegant mansion with a battlemented tower reflecting medieval defensive design principles. Originally commissioned by the monastic order of San Felipe Neri, the palace later became state property before passing to General Antonio Ros de Olano y Perpinya, to whom Queen Isabel II granted the titles of Viscount of Ros de Olano and Marquis of Gaud-el-Yelú with grandeur of Spain. The building features well-preserved medieval architecture characteristic of Spanish aristocratic residences, including a surrounding moat that enhances its imposing appearance. Today, the castle-palace functions as a private residence, maintaining the dignity and architectural integrity of its distinguished heritage while remaining a notable example of Spanish noble architecture in the Murcia region.
