Castell d'en Boix crowns a hilltop in Taradell's Osona region at 803 metres, strategically positioned for panoramic views across the Plana de Vic. First documented in 893, the castle remained inhabited until 1590 and stands as a testament to medieval defensive architecture. Visible remains date from the 10th to 14th centuries and include sections of fortification walls, a large defensive tower, and interior chamber foundations built on a dramatic rocky outcrop. Archaeological excavations have revealed artifacts spanning its centuries of occupation, making it a significant historical site for understanding Catalonia's feudal landscape.
