Castell de Serra, also known as the Castle of Alto Pino, stands as ruins of an important medieval Muslim fortress in Serra, Valencia. Constructed during the 8th and 9th centuries, it was part of a critical defensive network protecting the northern part of Valencia alongside fortresses at Olocau and Náquera. El Cid famously conquered this castle around 1094–1095, adding to its legendary significance. The walled enclosure features an irregular base spanning 600 square meters, with crenellated walls, two towers, and an impressive main tower reaching approximately 10 meters in height. Now designated as an Asset of Cultural Interest, the castle offers spectacular views of the coast and Valencia's agricultural landscapes.
