Torre de Santibáñez de Béjar rises prominently on a hilltop near an ancient oak in Salamanca province, its construction spanning the late 12th and early 13th centuries (1198-1203). Originally built by order of the Marquis of Fuente del Sol, this frontier signal tower dominated the town and surrounding landscape during medieval territorial conflicts between Castile and León. The tower once belonged to Isabella I of Castile in the 15th century and has been officially recognized as part of Spain's historic heritage since 1949 and as European Cultural Heritage since 2011. Though currently facing abandonment and progressive decay, its designation as a Cultural Heritage Site of Interest and inclusion in Hispania Nostra's Red List underscores its historical significance to the region's feudal legacy.
