Castell de Ribes rises from a steep hilltop in Sant Pere de Ribes, its documented history extending back to 990 AD as recorded in medieval charters. The 10th-century fortress originally occupied a larger footprint but now preserves a circular tower approximately 19 meters high and 7 meters in diameter, featuring two vaulted floors, a distinctive horseshoe arch opening, and crenellations. Adjacent to the historic church of Sant Pere de Ribes, the castle has been reimagined as a Center for the Interpretation of Cultural Heritage following a 2021 renovation. Visitors can experience guided tours offering dynamic perspectives on the municipality's thousand-year history, available Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00.
