Castelo de Trevejo is a 15th-century fortress built atop a rocky spur in the Sierra de Gata, constructed from an earlier 12th-century Moorish fortress and later used by the Order of the Temple, Order of Santiago, and Order of Alcántara. Located about 12 kilometers south of San Martín de Trevejo in Cáceres, Extremadura, the castle retains its keep and portions of defensive walls alongside a series of stone anthropomorphic tombs at its base. Now designated as a Protected Cultural Heritage site, the crumbling castle embodies the layered history of frontier conflicts and monastic military orders across medieval Iberia.
