Castillo de Pradas stands as a nearly square medieval fortification in San Agustín, Teruel, with documented origins reaching back to 1294. The castle features a distinctive rectangular masonry tower approximately 10 meters high with a crenellated top, serving as its principal defensive structure. Built by the Escriche family, the fortress later passed to the Sánchez Muñoz before returning to Escriche ownership in the 17th century. Located on a small hillock bordered by the Barruezo stream near a hermitage, the castle sits in a depopulated area near the Castellón border. Recently designated as municipal cultural heritage property, the fortress exemplifies 13th-century Aragonese military architecture and defensive design principles.
