Castillo de Salvaleón stands on a small elevation at the outskirts of the municipality of Salvaleón in Badajoz province, Extremadura. Built during the 14th century, the fortress likely rose over the remains of an earlier Moorish fortification, representing layers of medieval construction. In 1462, the castle passed to the House of Feria, whose members conducted significant improvements and expansions that enhanced its military capabilities. As part of the strategic fortress network along the Portuguese border, the castle served crucial defensive purposes during the medieval period. Today, the remains include a powerful square stone tower with adjoining walls, preserving the castle's distinctive silhouette on the landscape.
