Castillo Del Milagro stands in Retuerta del Bullaque, Ciudad Real, in the Montes de Toledo region, surrounded by forests and hills. Built in 1213 by order of the Archbishop of Toledo, Rodrigo Jiménez de Rada, the fortress was designed to halt Almohade incursions toward Toledo during the Reconquista and to control passage through the mountain pass. The castle features a distinctive square tower of homage surrounded by crenellated walls and towers, with access via a drawbridge over a moat, emphasizing its defensive character. Now visitable, the castle exemplifies the barrier fortresses that marked the frontier between Christian and Islamic territories in medieval Spain.
