Castle of Quel is a 15th-century fortress built in 1470 on a rocky crag rising more than 100 meters above the village of Quel in La Rioja. The castle features a rectangular three-story homage tower serving as a watchtower, surrounded by an irregular fortified enclosure reinforced by two square towers. Its strategic position overlooking the Cidacos valley made it integral to the regional defensive system, allowing communication with other nearby fortresses including Castle of Autol and Castle of Arnedo. After restoration between 2010 and 2012, the castle now provides free public access and offers sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding valley landscape.
