Castle of Malsobaco is a historic Islamic fortress in Paracuellos de Jarama, Madrid province, originally constructed during the 9th century as part of the defensive system of the Middle March under Emir Muhammad I. Built strategically on a hill overlooking the Jarama valley, the castle was documented during the Reconquest and later ceded to the Order of Santiago in 1180, remaining under their control until the sixteenth century. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1985, today the ruins preserve the castle's floor plan, remains of a lateral tower, perimeter walls, and a historic cistern, offering visitors insight into medieval Islamic military architecture and the region's complex historical transitions.
