Castell de Pals is represented by the Torre de les Hores, a Romanesque circular keep tower that stands as the sole surviving evidence of the original medieval castle in this well-preserved 7th-century village. Built on natural rock at the highest point called Mont Aspre, the tower commanded extensive views over the surrounding countryside from its earliest documented mention in 889. A Gothic bell tower with three pilasters was added during the 15th-century renovations. The castle's remains anchor the historic Pedró Quarter, where narrow cobbled streets, walled fortifications, and the adjacent Gothic church create an immersive medieval atmosphere, reflecting centuries of Catalan architectural and cultural heritage.
