The Castillo de Orgaz is a late medieval fortress constructed in the 14th century by Álvar Pérez de Guzmán and reformed in the 15th century, situated in Orgaz near Toledo. Its distinctive rectangular architecture includes a 20-meter-high quadrangular keep and a semi-circular chapel apse projecting from the outer wall, constructed with masonry, brick, and reinforced stone. Once the residence of influential Castilian noble families including the Ruiz de Toledo lineage, the castle is notably associated with Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, immortalized in El Greco's famous painting of his burial. Though not open for interior viewing, its exterior remains an important architectural testament to late medieval nobility.
