Alcazaba de las Siete Torres is a medieval fortress located in the town centre of Orce in Granada province, notable for its seven distinctive towers that give the castle its distinctive name. Constructed beginning in the 11th century but not completed until the 14th century, the fortress served as a vital defensive stronghold for the Nazarí Kingdom of Granada. The castle features a walled courtyard surrounded by fortified walls and towers; an earthquake in 1531 destroyed the eastern wall and tower. Designated a National Monument of Artistic and National Interest in 1973, the fortress has been restored and now serves as an exhibition space, offering visitors insight into Nazarí military architecture and regional history.
