Castillo de Nogales represents a masterpiece of 15th-century military architecture, constructed in 1458 by order of Lorenzo Suárez de Figueroa. Located in Badajoz's Extremadura region, the fortress features a distinctive design consisting of a single imposing central tower surrounded by a square enclosure with round towers at each corner. Elegant corbelling runs beneath the battlements of both outer walls and main tower, while the original ditch and drawbridge once protected the entrance. The castle's fine masonry construction and heraldic emblems of the powerful Figueroa and Manuel families underscore its historical importance as a key stronghold in a defensive network alongside the castles of Feria and Zafra.
