The Castle of Mota del Marqués is a distinctive 13th-century fortress in Valladolid, Castile and León, notable for its rare circular keep with a distinctive dome—one of the few surviving Teutonic Order fortifications in Spain. Built during the reign of Alfonso X El Sabio, the castle's Germanic architectural influence is evident in its unusual round tower design, which differs markedly from typical Iberian castles. Originally known as Santibáñez de la Mota, the fortress later became associated with the marquis Rodrigo de Ulloa. Though now in ruins, the castle's remains command the hilltop and remain visible along the Via de la Plata pilgrimage route.
