The Castillo de Linares de Mora in Teruel's province of Aragon dates to medieval times with Muslim origins, later reformed following Christian conquest. Conquered by Alfonso II in 1181, the fortress was entrusted to the Knights Templar and remained under ecclesiastical control for nearly six centuries. The castle features an irregular floor plan adapting to its rocky foundation, with a distinctive pentagonal keep reduced in height and a circular tower among its surviving remains. Major restoration work undertaken in 1222 and again in 1532 shaped the castle's present form. Protected as a Cultural Heritage Asset, the ruins of this strategically important fortress still stand as evidence of its medieval military significance.
