CASTLES LA ROCA DEL VALLÈS

Castell de La Roca stands on a prominent hill adjacent to La Roca del Vallès in Catalonia, originally documented in the 10th century and featuring predominantly Gothic architecture from the 13th to 15th centuries. This medieval fortress dominates the valley of the Mogent river and overlooks the passage of an ancient Roman road that once crossed the Vallès, commanding panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Built with impressive stone fortifications, the castle was owned by the Torrelles family from the early 15th century until the 18th century, and continues to reflect the architectural sophistication and strategic significance of Catalan medieval nobility.

Castell de Bell-lloc stands as a testament to medieval fortification in La Roca del Vallès, Catalonia. First documented in 1073, this castle played a significant role in the region's feudal history, originally granted to the monastery of Sant Pau del Camp in the 12th century. The fortress served as a strategic stronghold during the medieval period, but suffered destruction during the War of the Remences in 1460. Later transformed into a chapel in the 18th century, the structure endured further damage during the Peninsular War. Today, visitors can observe the remains of the circular tower foundation and medieval wall fragments, which have been declared a cultural property of national interest.
