Torre de La Hoz de la Vieja is a 14th-century fortress tower constructed in 1363 during the War of the Two Pedros, when locals built the structure to avoid paying tributes to nearby Montalbán castle for military protection. Perched on a dominant hilltop in Teruel province, Aragón, the rectangular tower measures 8 by 6.5 meters with masonry walls, dressed stone corners, crenellations, loopholes, and a pointed arch entrance. Recently restored between 2025 and 2026 with a government investment of 101,171 euros, the tower's deterioration was halted and structural integrity reinforced, with plans for public access. The tower represents an important example of local civic initiative during medieval conflicts and remains a significant defensive structure in the region's architectural heritage.
