Castillo de Iznájar stands as an 8th-century triangular fortress in the center of Iznájar, Córdoba, surrounded by the scenic Iznájar reservoir. Built during Moorish rule, this medieval stronghold features thick walls with flanking towers at its southeast and southwest corners, creating a distinctive geometric defense structure. Captured by Christians in 1434 after a hard-fought battle, it passed to local community ownership in 1991 and was designated a Cultural Heritage Site in 1993. Visitors access the castle through the local Tourist Information Office, where modest fees grant entry to explore its historic ruins and enjoy commanding views across the town and surrounding hills.
