Castelo de Pobra, also known as Castro da Pobra de Parga, sits in ruins in Guitiriz, Galicia, along the Way of Saint James pilgrimage route. Built in the late 14th or early 15th century, this fortress was constructed to monitor the ancient road connecting Lucus Augusti to Flavaia Brigantium. The castle was built atop the remains of Roman constructions, integrating older defensive principles with medieval architecture. Today, only portions of the enclosure wall and a cylindrical tower approximately four meters in diameter remain, though these preserve significant architectural elements of medieval and Roman origin.
