Castell de Guimerà is a medieval fortress in Guimerà, Lleida, situated at 555 meters altitude along the Corb river, originally serving as an advanced defensive position against Muslim-held territories. Dating from at least 1038, the castle comprises a distinctive circular watchtower, a large fortified enclosure with building vestiges, and polygonal ruins considered the oldest element of the complex from archaeological investigations conducted between 1990 and 1996. Declared a cultural property of national interest and designated a Historic-Artistic Complex in 1975, the castle played a crucial role in defending newly settled Christian territories in Catalonia.
