For over three centuries, this castle in Biscay's Uribe region witnessed intense conflicts between rival noble families until the bloodshed subsided in the 16th century. Its dramatic neo-Gothic transformation in the late 19th century under architect Marquis de Cubas gave the castle its current storybook appearance, with 2,400 square meters of distinctive architecture that attracts visitors with its striking silhouette set just 17 kilometers from Bilbao, though access to the interior remains restricted.
