Castle Fuensaldaña stands six kilometres from Valladolid, representing the distinctive Valladolid School of 15th-century Castilian architecture. Built by the Vivero family, the fortress features a striking square floor plan with circular corner towers and a massive 34-metre rectangular keep projecting into the parade ground. Originally a stately residence, it later served as the seat of the Cortes de Castilla y León regional legislature until 2007. Following comprehensive renovations completed in 2012, the castle opened as a public monument hosting weddings, conferences, and concerts, making it an accessible showcase of late medieval Castilian power and design.
