Castillo Templario de Fregenal de la Sierra is a distinctive medieval fortress with seven towers in Extremadura, built and held by the Order of the Temple from 1283 onwards. The castle features a remarkable Tower of Homage crowned with an 18th-century bell tower and clock, accessed through an ornate gateway with ogival arch and Templar escutcheon. Uniquely integrated within its fortress walls are a 18th-century bullring and early 20th-century Market of Provisions, creating an unusual blend of military and civic functions. Protected as a Cultural Heritage Site, the castle reflects the Templar Order's strategic importance in the region until 1308, after which it passed to various Spanish nobility before becoming part of the Seville council's holdings.
