Peñaflor Castle overlooks the municipality of Cuerva in Toledo province, Castile-La Mancha. Likely constructed under Alfonso X of Castile in the 13th century, the castle later passed through the hands of notable families including the Guevara and Garcilaso de la Vega dynasties. Featuring a rectangular ground plan with circular towers in three corners and rising three stories, the fortress was abandoned by the late 16th century and largely ruined by 1881. Today under municipal ownership, the castle's remaining north, west, and south walls can be visited freely, offering views across the surrounding landscape.
