Castell de Cervià is a medieval fortress dating from the 10th century, strategically positioned on an elevated site above the village of Cervià de Ter in Girona, Catalonia. The castle was first documented in 992 when it passed into the hands of Sunyer Llobet, and appeared in his testament in 1024, establishing its prominence in the region's feudal hierarchy. From the 12th century onward, the fortress was abandoned as a residence, though it remained an important historical landmark. After centuries of private ownership, the castle transferred to municipal control in 2013 through donation, ensuring its preservation. Visitors today can explore the remains of this medieval ensemble, including the foundations of the main tower, preserved wall sections, and chamber foundations, enjoying panoramic views over the Ter river valley and surrounding territories that the castle once commanded.
