Torreón de los Guzmanes in Caleruega, Burgos, rises with a square base and walls two meters thick to a height of 17 meters, dating to the 12th century. The tower occupies the garden of the Convent of Santo Domingo, marking the ancestral home where Saint Dominic was born in 1170. A rounded-arch entry door is flanked by heraldic shields of the Aza and Guzmán families, representing medieval nobility. The tower formed part of a 10th-century defensive system along the Duero River. Recently converted into an exhibition hall functioning as a Dominican museum, the tower showcases the history of the Order of Preachers and remains an important symbol of monastic and noble heritage.
