Castillo de Brozas, located in Cáceres province, is a medieval palace-fortress built in the 14th century by the Order of Alcántara and extensively reconstructed in the 16th-17th centuries. Known locally as "el Palacio," it served as the seat of the Knight Commander and was the capital of an administrative district in the 16th century. The castle witnessed significant military confrontations during the Order's civil conflict in the 15th century and throughout the Modern Age wars. Today, it remains privately owned and functions as a residence, with exterior access freely available. The structure is protected as a Cultural Interest Property and forms part of Brozas' historic ensemble.
