Castell de Bolbait is a 12th-century Andalusí fortress crowning a hill in the La Canal de Navarrés comarca of Valencia province. The original structure featured a rammed-earth castle with a quadrangular tower and albacar (defensive enclosure), surrendered to King James I of Aragon during the 13th-century conquest. Over subsequent centuries, the fortress evolved through multiple expansions and restorations, developing into a late Gothic-style palace by the 15th century while retaining its medieval defensive towers and walls. Partially dismantled between 1875 and 1896 to salvage materials, the castle remains a protected heritage property showcasing the region's transition from military fortress to aristocratic residence.
