Palau-castell de Betxí is an exceptional example of Valencian Renaissance architecture dating to the mid-16th century, located in the Plaza Mayor of Betxí in the Plana Baixa region. This fortified residential building evolved from a medieval tower-farmstead (alquería) into a Gothic palace during the Christian conquest, later transformed into a fortified residence in the 15th century with four bastions and a Renaissance entrance. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1997, the quadrangular palace is organized around a central Renaissance-style patio and preserves remains of 11th-12th century walls, the only civil Renaissance cloister surviving in the Valencia region, and a modernist theater from the late 19th century.
