Castell de Bétera is centrally located in the Camp de Túria region of Valencia province, with its foundation in an ancient Muslim watchtower from the second half of the 11th century. The settlement surrendered to King Jaime I in 1237 in exchange for religious and property protections, and the castle subsequently belonged to the Order of Calatrava. After complete demolition and reconstruction ordered by King Pedro II in 1364, the castle was rebuilt and later granted to the Boïl family in 1386, becoming their perpetual property in 1437. The fully renovated structure comprises four crenellated towers and detached buildings, now housing an ethnographic museum that showcases regional heritage and culture.
