Castell de Benimantell sits atop a dramatic rocky spur overlooking the valley near the Guadalest River, just one kilometer from the popular tourist destination of Guadalest in Alicante's Marina Baja region. This modest fortress is believed to have functioned as a watchtower post for the larger Guadalest Castle, guarding the entrance toward the town while serving as a vital link between Guadalest and Alfofra castles to the north. The remaining structures include a square enclosure with towers measuring several meters in height and an impressive cistern, built into the rocky peak that stands out prominently in the landscape. Located approximately 500 meters from the CV-755 road near the small inn of El Castellet, the site provides spectacular views and offers visitors insight into medieval regional defense strategies.
