Castillo del Condestable Dávalos, also known as Castillo de la Triste Condesa, is a granite-built fortress in Arenas de San Pedro, Ávila province, constructed between 1395 and 1423 by Condestable Ruy López Dávalos to demonstrate domain over territories granted by Henry III. The castle features a distinctive square floor plan with semicircular corner towers and square towers on three sides, with the fourth occupied by the central keep. After passing through various noble hands, including as a wedding dowry to Juana Pimentel, it was declared Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931 and now serves as a municipal auditorium, museum, and exhibition space celebrating its rich 600-year history.
